I’m With Trump on This One. The Democrat Party don’t give a damn about black people
Prominent, bourgeois African American pundits like Georgetown University professor Michael Eric Dyson and New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow have come out swinging against Donald Trump’s recent attempts to court black voters. But talking heads like Dyson and Blow are showing they are completely out of touch with African Americans. Trump is one hundred percent correct when he says the Democratic Party doesn’t give a fuck about black people.
If you’re from the hood, this is not breaking news. I’ve been saying it for years. The Democratic Party only cares African Americans when it’s time to vote. Yet, the party is not doing anything to find the next Barack Obama. Of the 26 Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate, only one is black.
Aside from making sure black people stay on welfare, the Dems have not come up with any significant policy changes that would end gun violence, poverty and lack of economic opportunities, and cop shootings in American inner city neighborhoods. I thought it was going to happen when Obama got in office. But eight years later, we’re still waiting.
Dyson and Blow, as well as other well-known black commentators are attacking Trump for exaggerating stats that prove the inequality African Americans still face. They don’t want to admit that there’s some truth to what the Republican presidential nominee is saying.
In March, Washington D.C. think tank Violence Policy Center released a study based on 2013 FBI crime stats that found 85 percent of African-American homicide victims were killed with guns. The center also determined that African Americans represented 50 percent of all homicide victims in 2013, despite being just 13 percent of the U.S. population.
In Miami-Dade, an average of 30 children are killed annually by gun violence according to a recent Miami Herald analysis of homicide cases. Just recently, a young man who plays football for me and his girlfriend were shot in Liberty City. Both of them are still in the hospital. In Obama’s hometown Chicago, more than 2,000 people have been victims of gun violence in 2016.
A 2013 Pew Research Center study of Bureau of Labor Statistics determined the unemployment rate among blacks is about double than among whites for more than six decades. According to the most recent labor stats, Pew’s findings still hold true. Through the first six months of 2016, the unemployment rate for blacks was 8.3 percent compared to 4.2 percent for whites.
Trump’s message is on point. The problem is that he’s the messenger. If it was any other candidate making those statements, black people might listen. I’m not offended by Trump’s words. In fact, I applaud him. Does that mean I’m voting for him? Hell, no
